چکیده

Aim: Superparamagnetic cubic iron oxide nanoparticles (IONPs) were synthesized and functionalized with meso-2,3-dimercaptosuccinic acid (DMSA) as a potential agent for cancer treatment. Methods: Monodisperse IONPs high value of saturation magnetization by thermal decomposition method DMSA via ligand exchange reaction, their cytotoxic effects on HeLa cells investigated. Results: an edge length 24.5 ± 1.9 nm had specific absorption rate 197.4 W/g Fe (15.95 kA/m 488 kHz) showed slight cytotoxicity when incubated 3.3 × 10 , 6.6 9.9 NP/mL 24, 48 72 h. Conclusion: To the best our knowledge, this is first study to investigate both DMSA-coated hyperthermia performance these nanoparticles.

Labeling mesenchymal cells with DMSA-coated gold and iron oxide nanoparticles: assessment of biocompatibility and potential applications

BACKGROUND Nanoparticles' unique features have been highly explored in cellular therapies. However, nanoparticles can be cytotoxic. The cytotoxicity can be overcome by coating the nanoparticles with an appropriated surface modification. Nanoparticle coating influences biocompatibility between nanoparticles and cells and may affect some cell properties. Here, we evaluated the biocompatibility of...

Carbon-coated iron oxide nanoparticles as contrast agents in magnetic resonance imaging

Coprecipitated ferrite nanoparticles were coated with carbon using a hydrothermal method. From transmission electron microscope pictures, we could see that the coated iron oxide nanoparticles were spherical in shape with an average diameter of 90 nm. The strong bonding of carbon on the nanoparticle surfaces was checked by noting the C = O and C = C vibrations in Fourier transform infrared spect...

Lipopeptide-Coated Iron Oxide Nanoparticles as Potential Glycoconjugate-Based Synthetic Anticancer Vaccines.

Although iron oxide magnetic nanoparticles (NPs) have been widely utilized in molecular imaging and drug delivery studies, they have not been evaluated as carriers for glycoconjugate-based anticancer vaccines. Tumor-associated carbohydrate antigens (TACAs) are attractive targets for the development of anticancer vaccines. Due to the weak immunogenicity of these antigens, it is highly challengin...

Exceedingly small iron oxide nanoparticles as positive MRI contrast agents.

Medical imaging is routine in the diagnosis and staging of a wide range of medical conditions. In particular, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is critical for visualizing soft tissue and organs, with over 60 million MRI procedures performed each year worldwide. About one-third of these procedures are contrast-enhanced MRI, and gadolinium-based contrast agents (GBCAs) are the mainstream MRI cont...
